Heather Guthrie Named to OHSU Foundation Gift Planning Council

Heather GuthrieOHSU Foundation is pleased to add Heather Guthrie to its Gift Planning Council. The Gift Planning Council, comprised of estate planning professionals who give their time and expertise to OHSU, provides advice and counsel to the OHSU Foundation Gift Planning team to help it achieve its goals.

Guthrie is a partner at Portland law firm Dunn Carney, where her primary focus is on estate planning and administration. She leads the firm’s Estate Planning and Administration Team, and also serves on the firm’s Executive Committee.

Her practice includes developing comprehensive plans for estates of all sizes, with an emphasis on legacy-building for families and individuals using complex tax-planning strategies. Guthrie also assists clients in establishing and administering guardianships and conservatorships, and through probate and post-mortem trust administration.

“I am delighted to welcome Heather Guthrie as the newest member of the OHSU Foundation Gift Planning Council,” said Rochelle Makela-Goodman, Assistant Vice President of Gift Planning at OHSU Foundation. “Heather brings deep experience in estate planning and charitable giving and as well as an outside perspective that will be invaluable to OHSU Foundation as we help individuals and families create their legacy through planned gifts to OHSU and OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.”

Members of the Gift Planning Council are volunteers who embrace the core values of OHSU and OHSU Foundation. The group includes attorneys, financial planners, life insurance agents, trust administrators, real estate specialists, investment advisors, wealth advisors, accountants, tax professionals, deferred gift donors and other fields where donors seek advice in charitable giving. The Council is made up of 15 to 25 members.
